You can add a text background color by editing it on the Appearance panel, creating a highlight text effect using Offset Path, or simply adding a colored rectangle behind your text. In this tutorial, I’ll show you three ways to highlight text in Adobe Illustrator. If you want to highlight text, you’d need to add the highlight manually and there are a few different ways to do it. Unlike working on Word doc, there isn’t a highlight text color option in Adobe Illustrator. Step 4: Drag your cursor over the text you would like to highlight. Whenever I make a text-based poster, I always like to play with the text styles, add highlights, shadows, and distort the text, etc. Step 2: Right-click on the PDF file you would like to highlight > choose Open With > select Adobe Reader. Hold and move the left mouse over the word or text to be highlighted. You can also click on Comment, then choose Highlight Text in the drop-down menu. And then click the Highlight button on the Adobe Reader toolbar. Highlighting text can also make the text look more stylish in many designs. Click Open from the File menu, and select and open the highlight text PDF document from your computer. For example, when you have a complex background, it’s hard to decide on a text color that matches and is readable, adding a highlight is a solution! Unfortunately, there currently isn't a keyboard shortcut for highlight text in Docs. The idea of highlighting text is to give a focus point, but it’s useful in other ways as well.
